Review: Century Southern Tower Hotel

Where: Tokyo Japan

The Century Southern Tower Hotel is located near the south end of Shinjuku Station, one of the busiest train stations in the world.  It is located atop an office building with the main lobby of the hotel being on the twentieth floor.

In the picture above, the large glass column on the right of the building is the elevator shaft.  You can see that the middle of the building is divided by a large expanse of windows.  This is the hotel lobby. The hotel floors are all situated above the lobby.

There are two entrances to the hotel, one side faces the Takeshimaya Dept store (see the pic above this one).  The other entrance faces a smaller street.  This is the entrance you see if you are being dropped off by the Airport Limo bus.

This is the hotel lobby situated on the twentieth floor.  On this level there is also a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Here is the layout of the hotel, it is in the shape of a triangle.   Misterpiggy stayed in room 3071 back in September 2010.

The Room: 3071

The bed was very comfortable.   The rooms are slightly larger than most Tokyo hotel rooms because this is a four star hotel.   The more expensive rooms face eastwards (ie towards Takeshimaya), whereas the more economical rooms face westward.  If, from your room, you can see the Shinjuku Park Towers, where the Park Hyatt hotel is located (featured in the movie Lost in Translation), then your room is facing west.

Verdict:

The Century Southern hotel is located in an excellent location near the Shinjuku station.  The rooms are fairly large.  The airport bus stops at this hotel.   It is just steps to the Takeshimaya department store.

The hotel location is circled in yellow above.  The hotel address is
2-2-1 Yoyogi Shibuya-ku Tokyo Tokyo-to 151-8583

The closest exit from Shinjuku station is called the Shinjuku Terrace.
